Silver Dollar Award

SMITH Northview Hospital

The goal of the Respect and Value Everyone (RAVE) Committee is to ensure all SMITH Northview Hospital employees are recognized and appreciated for their efforts. One of the primary way of achieving this goal is through the Silver Dollar Award.

Silver Dollar Award Criteria and Process:

• 1.  Nominations will be taken daily, throughout the year. Nominations can be submitted online at www.smithhospital.com, sent to rave@smithhospital.com, or submitted via paper forms at the two submission boxes located at the OR timeclock or across from the cafeteria (next to HIM).
• 2.  Nominations can be submitted by:
  • a.  Co-workers, Supervisors, or Volunteers
  • i.  When nominating a co-worker or subordinate, please keep in mind that this Award is for exceptional service above and beyond daily job tasks.
  • b.  Patients or visitors
  • c.  Vendors or suppliers
• 3.  The RAVE Committee will select up to three winners each month to receive the Silver Dollar Award. Those Nominated, but not selected, will receive a Nomination Certificate. All the Winners and those nominated will be invited to a reception held at the end of each quarter.
• 4.  An employee may be selected as a Silver Dollar Winner once a year, but may continue to be nominated throughout the year. RAVE Committee members may be nominated at any time for the Award. The nominated member will be excluded from voting during that meeting.
• 5.  Those selected as Winners have several benefits:
  • a.  Newsletter- all winners are listed in the RAVE Newsletter
  • b.  Special Parking- the Silver Dollar parking spot is available on a first come, first serve basis for Winners that are published in the current Newsletter.
  • c.  The winners will receive a special prize package including a Certificate of Recognition and the kind comments that were written about them, excluding the writer.

This Award is to be used to recognize employees who, while fulfilling their job requirements, have demonstrated actions and values that are outstanding. The employee stands out as true leaders and team members that motivate others into action by their actions.
